DardaCats began as a simple, friendly talking tool used by local NGOs, therapists, and social workers in 2020.
Over three years, it evolved into a research-based collaboration with child specialists, children, parents, and educators. The result was a therapeutic board game that uses storytelling and roleplaying to explore big feelings within the home, classroom, and clinic.
DardaCats - The Family Board Game is a collaborative tool designed to support emotional literacy and family dynamics through play. Players take turns identifying the DardaCat’s emotion and responding with a song, action, or story. The gameplay encourages dialogue, empathy, and role-play without being competitive. It’s a board game that prioritizes connection and expression, developed to create a fun, engaging setting to discuss complex feelings.
The DardaCats family game was launched in August 2023 on Kickstarter and was 735% funded. Hospitals, schools, childcare centers, therapists, and universities across the world showed interest in integrating this tool into their practice.
